paper love
Oh my goodness, I'm in love with the paper sculptures of Dutch artist, Peter Gentenaar!
They are elegant, ethereal, organic, curious, & luscious. Still & floating, yet seemingly growing, curling, unfolding....!! What craftsmanship!

Rumi speaks
"Here is one thing in this world that you must never forget to do. If you forget everything else and not this, there's nothing to worry about; but if you remember everything else and forget this, then you will have done nothing in your life. It's as if a kind has sent you to some country to do a task, and you perform a hundred other services, but not the one he sent you to do. So human beings come to this world to do particular work. That work is the purpose, and each is specific to the person. If you don't do it, it's as if a priceless Indian sword were used to slice rotten meat. It's a golden bowl being used to cook turnips, when one filing from the bowl could buy a hundred suitable pots... Remember the deep root of your being, the presence of the only Being. Give your life to the one who already owns your breath and your moments. -Rumi

Judith Scott
So this video pretty much just made my day :) It highlights some of the work and bio of artist, Judith Scott, an artist who I've admired for a few years now. Also- I just happened to see a few of her pieces at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore last week (such a delight). So this video is a fitting follow-up!! WoW- I'm in love with how they executed this installation in London: take a moment-

Ideas n Projects for the New Year
Happy New Year! Bonne Annee!
Over the past few years I've come to really enjoy creating goals for the new year. For me it's an opportunity to reflect on the year behind me and get excited for the one at hand. I try to make my ideas/goals practical and more or less quantifiable. They are designed to give me something new to put my energy towards (I love a little change & newness here and there), as well as have FUN with!!! Seriously- these are things I am looking forward to, rather than dreading. I'm not a traditional type-A personality, but I've got to say, I work really really well with lists, new projects, goals, deadlines...etc. ;)
I usually don't make my new year goals public, but I thought that a few extra eyes couldn't hurt. In fact, it'll probably motivate me that much more! Join the FUN!!... what are some of your ideas for the new year? Do tell-
